Sorry about not v-posting in a while. It's been rough, and I'm conserving cell battery for emergencies. Posting from my laptop in a McDonald's in West Virginia. Ironic, huh?
I'm still ok. Got sidetracked trying to get into Virginia. Looks like all the main roads are blocked off. Leave it to my home state to be the one that's well-defended, even from lil ol' me. So, I've cut around through Tennessee and Kentucky into West Virginia to see if I can't sneak in through the mountains near where I used to live.
I can barely type, though. And driving is almost unbearable too. These burns are bad. I changed out the bandages from the blood/pus soaked gauze to my Avalon costume from my car. Taped with my best friend, Duct Tape!
I've been in a few scrapes. My car is not very good for runnign over masses of the undead. My windshield and windows are all blown out, too, so, I have to be on my guard whenever I'm not travelling at a high rate of speed.
I will never again say another bad word abotu a redneck. Every yet-living town I have been through has been so amazing. Southern folk quite willing to give me more .45 ammo. I've helped treat some wounds here and there, and saved a few lives. I'm probably an idiot for stopping and helping as much as I have, but I won't let something little like the zombie apocalypse stop me from being who I am.
I'm tired. Really tired. Might be going into shock. I'll make it though.
I have to. I'm coming home.

Heading home to VA, no work til Tuesday, Murshank...gonna be a good day and a better weekend!
Time to start it off right with a McGriddle and signing up to make sure I never deploy to Iraq again!

Those two low scores are to be expected, I suppose. It's kinda hard to maintain a social life from halfway across the globe.
4 more months. Still seems like forever to me.

Looking back, I don't know whether I love foresight or hate it. Either way, makes me realize the significance of an old saying, "Don't make promises you can't keep."
Anyways, I suppose time will tell how much truth there is to predictions...

So, if you didn't yet know, I'm now in Baghdad. I'm set where I'm going to be for about a year. My work is easy, but I have an asshole boss. And I miss my friends and family. But otherwise, its nice.

So, I'm sitting in an airport enroute to Iraq right now.
No more American soil for a while.
Saying goodbye to my family was one of the toughest things I've ever done. Geoff, you had me so close to crying, it's not even funny.
But now, I focus on the job ahead of me. I finally get to do the job I've spent 3 years training to do.
More to follow once I arrive at my destination and get all set up and such.

I dunno why. Helps me vent, maybe? Oh well.
Oh well. Music is like cauterizing wounds. Makes it hurt more at the time, but helps it heal quicker, at the cost of the scars.
